I have been a Certified Professional Coder since 2005 and Certified Professional Medical Auditor since 2015. With over 20 years in medical coding and billing, my experience includes pain management, cardiology, orthopedics, dermatology, urology and Ob/Gyn. I currently code for a large cardiology group in a teaching facility which includes cardiology, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology. I have had the opportunity to have worked in both professional and facility coding and billing. In addition to assigning CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 codes to documentation, I have audited claims for correct coding and compliance with teaching physician guidelines. Documentation is reviewed to identify opportunities for improvement. Based on reviews that I have performed, missing revenue and risk areas have been identified which resulted in changes made to the EPIC system and how charges are captured. I am a very self-motivated individual with a passion for learning.
