Background
About Raymond Holmes
I am a management scholar, and a subject matter expert in Workforce Development. I hold a Global Career Development Facilitator's certification (GCDF) from the Center for Credentialing & Education. He has over 20 years of management and leadership experience. I also hold an Associate of Arts degree from the Baltimore City Community College in Business Management, a bachelor's from the University of Baltimore in Business Administration. I also hold a master’s in management and Doctor of Management degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. I am a Sigma Alpha Pi in the University of Phoenix Chapter of the National Society of Leadership Success. I currently serve on the Board of Directors as the Chair of both the Audit Committee and Chair of the Membership Committee of the Cherry Hill Development Corporation. I served on other boards and committees including, the Maryland Career Development Association (Awards Committee Chair), Mass Transportation Administration Citizens Advisory Board (Vice-President), and the University of Baltimore Student Government Association (Vice-President). I am the author of a workforce development curriculum textbook,"Saying I Do to Your Career. This book gives job seekers best practices for obtaining employment, how to market their brand to employers. My dissertation was a study on Work Participation Specialist Barriers to Customer Services. My work has also authored over three articles on workforce development and recognized in local news and college publications. The Mayor of Baltimore, Martin O'Malley, Congressman Elijah Cummings, and other leaders have recognized his creative and innovative talents. My latest publication titled "From Kennedy Krieger to Ph.D.” is a tribute to his mother. A synopsis of this book. “If it were not for my mother’s concern for my health and safety, I would not be here to tell my story. Despite my accomplishments, I often fall into a depression where I feel worthless and that I have not done enough to please her. The subtitle of this book is “DEFYING THE ODDS.” I produced the title because of the probability of anyone with a medical diagnosis of “borderline retarded” to achieve what I have is very slim. My mother lived long enough to see and touch my Ph.D. She said to me, “I knew you could do.” It is clear to me that my mother is the one who DEFIED THE ODDS.” I have demonstrated my ability to achieve goals and objectives with results. I exceed the benchmarks set by the organization that I am either doing contractual assignments or as an employee.
