Creative that connects doesn’t just reach people — it reflects them. That’s the principle I’ve followed across 21 years of shaping work in Japan. As a freelance Creative + Art Director based in Tokyo, I bring an audience-first mindset to everything I do — helping brands define themselves not by category rules, but by how they make people feel seen. Whether I’m working in film, digital, social or experiential media, I aim for ideas that honour people’s instincts, and cultural nuance. I’ve led creative for brands across pharma, automotive, IT, gaming, personal care, delivery, and ride share — partnering with agencies, production teams, and clients in both English and Japanese. My work moves between big ideas and fine detail, strategy and storytelling — and always keeps the human end in sight. Most recently, I’ve led the rollout of Uber Taxi’s Japan relaunch with HAVAS Japan — building a creative platform that reintroduced the brand to a delicate market, and scaled with confidence across major cities. That work continues to drive record-breaking performance and awareness. I’ve also driven Uber Eats CRM campaigns, designing adaptable creative for key cultural moments year-round. Beyond client work, I run Tokyo Irish — an ongoing project that blends design, irreverence, and cultural play into apparel and ideas. It’s where I explore the same belief that guides all my work: Creative should help people be more of who they are — not who they think they should be.
