About Rayshawn Miller

I graduated from college and I hit the wall most graduates hit, “what’s next?”. The answer to that question did not show itself quickly, but it did show itself. The answer to that question was, service to our youth. Lacking an adequate role model, most of my life, but especially in my academic career, that looked like I did, I can truthfully say hindered my progress as a man. Realizing that young adults need positive examples constantly in their lives, provides me with all the purpose I need in life. Being a Division 1 basketball player, my story is something that most kids, female or male, can gravitate towards. My story, going from regular student to a scholarship player at a division 1 institution, brings together plenty of motifs: confidence, work ethic, etc. All characteristics that kids/young adults need more than ever in the world we live in today. People will listen to the right messenger for them, and if I can be the messenger for one, then that will always be a job well done for me, I just truthfully hope that it is more than one.
