About Reannah Britto

Reannah Britto is the Founder and CEO of MAI Cultures. She is an acknowledged, British based youth and social justice advocate With almost half a decades experience in education, criminal justice (youth) and social affairs, Reannah has a particular focus on national and international youth and social justice affairs, innovative strategies focused on social mobility and amplifying and empowering the voices of those not heard. Appointed by the Sectary of State for the UK Ministry of Justice to join their board of prison monitoring, Reannah's appointment lead her to be the youngest and the first Black person appointed to the board at HMP/YOI Isis, which sits on the same estate as UK's most Notorious prison HMP Belmarsh. Reannah's appointment gave rise to a shifts within existing cultures amongst the prison board and allowed new perspectives on the human rights of inmates and intersectional experience of inmates to be accounted for when informing decision within the prison estate. Reannah's unique experience in the field criminal justice, youth and socio-economic affairs, has led to her appointment as an Advisor to the Mayor of London's Young People's Action Group, focusing on scrutinising and advocating for change, improving the lives of young people across London through consulting communities across the city, strategically working and partnering with stakeholders on the common goal of social mobility and giving space for young people to grow and excel regardless of their backgrounds. Reannah is an avid public speaker. She is often sharing her knowledge and insight on education, issues surrounding young people, cultural and social justice affairs. This includes speaking at speaking at the London Violence Reduction Unit's Education Summit, Annual conference and at the Mayor of London's UNSECO Day of remembering Trans-atlantic slave trade and its abolition. She has featured on Evening Standard, London World, ITV, BBC and Children and Young People Now. Reannah is a UCL Masters graduate holding a masters in Social Justice and Education.
