About Rebecca Foisy

With over 7 years of experience in the not-for-profit sector, I have built a strong foundation in marketing communications, program management, and stakeholder engagement. My educational background in advertising and marketing communications, with a diploma from Canadore College and a degree from Nipissing University, has equipped me with the strategic and creative skills necessary to drive impactful initiatives. I began my career in the arts and culture sector at the Capitol Centre in North Bay, ON, where I gained valuable hands-on experience across various departments including marketing, finance, sponsorship, and programming, through over ten contract positions. This role ignited my passion for community-driven work and allowed me to develop a well-rounded skill set. Afterward, I became the Executive Director of the West Nipissing Chamber of Commerce, where I led marketing and communications efforts, coordinated events, and secured funding to advance the Chamber's mission. Working closely with the Board of Directors, I was proud to contribute to the organization’s growth and success. I then advanced my career as a Program Coordinator at The Business Centre Nipissing Parry Sound, where I managed the Starter Company Plus and Summer Company programs. In this role, I mentored entrepreneurs, helping them create business plans, and organize workshops and events. Currently, as Communications Coordinator for Nipissing First Nation, I continue to leverage my skills in communication and program management to support community initiatives and enhance organizational visibility.
