About Rebecca K.

My favourite part of the graphic arts are the puns I bring to the plate, sometimes literally. Making people laugh through writing (fiction and non-fiction) is my side passion, and I've been published through the White Wall Review. It was only natural to get invested in the industry that can tell a physical story. In true bookworm fashion, I focused on publishing in my Graphic Communications Management degree—taking additional courses aimed towards packaging to get a well-rounded education, and gaining a minor in English along the way. I have experience using Fiery Command Workstation, Kodak Preps/Prinergy, Esko Automation Engine (Pilot), Enfocus Switch, ArtiosCAD, Cape Pack, Autodesk Fusion 360, and the Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Dimension, XD). In addition, I enjoy HTML and block coding applications, and anything which may involve many IF-THEN statements, like variable data printing. During my education, I joined TMUTAGA as a Production Director, printing and finishing our journals, packages, t-shirts, calendars, stickers, and slipcovers for a student competition. This opportunity was student-led and resulted in hands-on training on multiple digital machines to a competent level. I also completed an internship at Marquis Book Printing where I learned more about CSR work, scheduling, and production coordination. I'm grateful to be an Ontario Scholar and on the Dean's List, in addition to receiving various high school and university scholarships, like the Canadian Printing Industries Scholarship Trust Fund (2020-2023).
