About Rebecca Lemire

I am an architectural historian with specific expertise in North American modernism and Indigenous design histories. I have over a decade's worth of experience working in architectural history and heritage. My current work involves regular application of the Ontario Heritage Act, largely in relation to the designation process and the implications of Bill 23. My doctoral research considered the intersection of Pueblo architectures and 'modernism' between California and New Mexico, focusing on the work of Rudolph Schindler, Paolo Soleri, and Rina Swentzell. My research was funded by a SSHRC Joseph Armand Bombardier Fellowship and I am also a recipient of scholarships from the Canadian Centre for Architecture, the Society of Architectural Historians and the Society for the Study of Architecture in Canada.
