About Rebecca Palkovic

I am a hard-working and driven marketing professional looking to utilize and enhance my current skill set. In July 2019, I began working at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions as their Marketing Manager. During my time at Kalahari, I was able to fully immerse myself in the resort marketing world. I manage day to day marketing operations at the resort and local levels using Smartsheet, a task management software. I also utilize programs in the Adobe Suite to design marketing collateral for the Pennsylvania property as well as our three other resort locations. I work very closely with all internal departments within the resort to identify and implement new marketing techniques. I also handle content creation for all digital marketing platforms within the resort and help generate content for our social media pages. My managerial role at Kalahari has allowed me to further expand my knowledge of marketing strategies and implement effective project management practices. From June of 2017 to July 2019, I worked at Shawnee Mountain Ski Area as their Social Media Coordinator/Marketing Assistant. I updated/managed their website and social media platforms with content relevant to their target audience. I created the artwork for our digital marketing campaigns and tracked and analyzed the results. I also handled all of Shawnee Mountain’s email marketing campaigns. I created all promotional materials as well (i.e. brochures, rack cards, postcards, posters.) My role at Shawnee Mountain allowed me to better understand and implement current marketing techniques and trends. During the spring of 2017, I interned at Affinity Connection in State College, PA. This position allowed me to enhance my written and verbal communication skills by generating content for client publications. I was constantly interviewing candidates for profile articles, which gave me experience communicating in a professional manner. The need to meet weekly deadlines caused me to become a very efficient and organized professional. During the summer of 2016, I interned for Cumulus Media with the CATCountry 96 and 100.7 WLEV radio stations. My involvement with promotional events gave me the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of individuals. I also handled website content as well as the social media platforms for each station. I gained a working knowledge of WordPress. This ever-changing work environment exposed me to the world of radio and allowed me to gain useful marketing and promotional techniques.
