DEP Bureau of Waterways Engineering Project Development: Set the initial design layout after examining the planning study, coordinating subsurface investigations, preparing the environmental assessment, discussing options with local officials, and completing the hydraulic modeling, set the project alignment, established the scope of the project, estimated the project budget, and preparation project construction drawings. Project Design Independently designed flood protection projects consisting of a combination of complex features such as levees, concrete box culverts, sheet pile walls, concrete floodwalls, railroad closure structures, railroad crossings and box culvert diversions. Aided in development of an Unsteady Hydraulic HEC-RAS model. Developed steady state hydraulic models in HEC-RA and performed hydrologic calculations to determine peak flows. Prepared and sealed drawings for construction including site plans, cross sections, and details. Reviewed and prepared easement descriptions, drawing plats, and easement acquisition documents. Coordinated review of easement acquisition documents with the DGS Office of Chief Council and local solicitors. Developed and implemented new products to increase the durability and life span of concrete and project features in acidic environments due to streams degraded by acid mine drainage: Project Construction: Performed the duties of the professional during construction and resolve complex construction problems encountered during construction. Served as lead project engineer and professional on the following flood protection projects: The Borough of Export Flood Protection Project, Westmoreland County, Contract Amount $8,925,125. Windber Borough Flood Protection Project Rehabilitation, Somerset Co, Contract Amount $1,183,730
