About Reeteka Sud
A neuroscientist by training, I am interested in molecular basis of brain disorders; particularly using stem cell and genetic technologies to find out the "whys" and "hows" of diseases. Currently I manage the ADBS Lab at NIMHANS, Bangalore. Past accomplishments include- Devised a cell-based assay for screening drugs for chronic pain treatment - Supervised and trained students, technical and administrative staff - Generated and implemented multiple research projects simultaneously - Authored papers for publication in several reputed journals including Neuropharmacology, Journal of Pharmacology & Experimental Therapeutics, European Journal of Pharmacology, etc. Skills: Expertise in cell culture (primary cultures and cell lines) and rodent models (including transgenic models for neurodegeneration disease research) Proficiency in molecular techniques: RNAi, DNA sequencing & analysis, targeted genomic editing techniques (zinc finger nucleases and CRISPR), qRT-PCR, FACS, detection, localisation and quantification of proteins (ex. ELISA, immunoblotting, immunocytochemistry), viral vector design, construction and screening transduced cells Software skills: Experienced in using ImageJ, Adobe Photoshop, SigmaPlot, Graphpad Prism Communication skills: Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
