About Reeya Kaur

Passionate Criminology student at De Montfort University, Leicester, dedicated to fostering inclusivity and fighting racism as a student leader within the decolonising DMU project, aligned with the Race Equality Charter. I serve as a proactive student ambassador for both my University and faculty, amplifying the voice of my peers and contributing to the enhancement of our academic community. Outside of my academic pursuits, I engage in meaningful work as an educator, delivering face-to-face sessions at the Spark Academy and online through the MyTutor platform, where I empower students in English. Additionally, I leverage my creativity and communication skills as a valued member of the media and marketing team at 'UniteStudents,' crafting compelling content across various social media channels. Committed to making a difference beyond campus, I volunteer my time with the Sandwell Council, actively participating in the SHAPE youth forum and serving on the Family Justice Young People’s Board (FJYPB) within the National Charter for Child-Inclusive Family Justice. These experiences have enriched my understanding of community dynamics and the importance of advocacy in fostering positive change. Driven by a passion for justice and public service, my ultimate goal is to contribute to the safety and well-being of my community as a member of the West Midlands Police Force.
