Lecturer and course leader in film and television production at Colchester Institute. Winner of the North Essex Teacher of the Year award in 2015. This was voted for by students and I am humbled and at the same time proud of this award. Colchester Institute College Ambassador 2020. I think I won this award based upon the support of parents and students. We enrol many new students based upon recommendation from former students. Author of Dear Charlie Letters to a Lost daughter, Caring for Emily and Write Charlie's Name. My book Dear Charlie. was chosen as the Radio 4 Book of the Week upon publication. I helped to write the radio script and shared the voice over with the actor Jeff Rawles who starred in Harry Potter and Drop the Dead Donkey. Between 1983 and 2002 I worked within the film and video industry. I spent nine years at Warner Bros and a further three years at Polygram Filmed Entertainment before joining the team that launched Film Four Video in 1996. During this time I won several individual marketing awards and I was part of the team that won distributor of the year on two occasions. It was also during this time that I was one of only six people to ever win the award for outstanding contribution to the video industry in I have had articles published in a wide variety of newspapers and magazines Including The Sunday Times. The Observer, The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph. I have been interviewed on both television and radio on multiple occasions in relation to my writing and as a representative of the video industry.
