About Reggie Jackson

I am currently a manager with the Saskatchewan Health Authority working with Mental Health and Addictions Services. I oversee a broad scope of services including inpatient treatment, community crisis supports and chronic illness recovery teams. It is a privilege and an honour to work with individuals at various stages in their recovery from addictions, mental illness, disabilities and navigating systems. As a manager, I try to balance, my leadership and transactional skills that are necessary for system development and program stability. Ensuring staff are involved in decisions that impact their day to day, allowing time for feedback and adjustment as they see things that a manager is not directly engaged. Allowing for creative processes and innovation also needs to be balanced with time, cost and benefit to the population served. While remaining grounded o the vision of service and mandate as a foundation, I feel it is equally important to remaining reflective and flexible to adjust to changing landscapes over time. With over 15 years of service in Mental Health services, I continue to be inspired by those around me. As a clinician, the best part of my work was supporting a person make necessary changes and enhance their quality of life. I feel the same now as a manager, watching my staff grow and develop to help the people we all serve.
