About Regional Carrillo

Regional A. Carrillo is a dedicated educator and community leader based in Phoenix, Arizona. With a Bachelor of Arts in Global Health from Arizona State University and a Masters of Education in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University, Carrillo brings a diverse skill set to his roles. His past role included serving as the Regional Program Manager for the Microsoft Philanthropies TEALS Program. In this role, he managed partnerships with 25 high schools and school districts across Arizona, New Mexico, and rural California. In this capacity, Carrillo recruited and trained tech industry volunteers to teach computer science, fosters healthy team dynamics, and cultivates partnerships to promote computer science education. Carrillo also gained extensive experience in education, serving as an educator and technology specialist at a title I school in South Phoenix. Over 8 years, he taught a wide range of subjects to students from first grade to middle school, implemented technology integration initiatives through the Apple ConnectEd Grant, and led professional development sessions for educators. Additionally, Carrillo has been actively involved in civic leadership. He is currently the founder and CEO of AZ(LAND), where he works to promote environmental and racial justice initiatives in the Sonoran desert. He was also elected to serve on the Phoenix Elementary School Governing Board District #1, and previously co-chaired Trans Queer Pueblo. He has also contributed his expertise to various committees and initiatives focused on education policy and community development. Recognized for his contributions, Carrillo has been honored as a Phoenix Business Journal 40 under 40 Honoree and has received media coverage for his work in education, sustainability, and community activism. With certifications in education finance and program management, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development, Carrillo continues to make a significant impact in education, sustainability, and community empowerment in his state of Arizona.
