About Rei Schultz

Rei Schultz (Karasawa), AIA, is a licensed architect based in Seattle with diverse experience across commercial, retail, and healthcare projects of varying scales. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) from the Illinois Institute of Technology and became a licensed architect in the state of Washington in 2023. Rei currently practices as an Architect at Cushing Terrell’s Seattle office. Passionate about mentorship and supporting the next generation of designers, Rei is dedicated to creating opportunities for students and emerging professionals to gain real-world exposure to the architecture field. Since 2022, she has served as Co-Chair of the AIA Seattle Young Architects Forum (YAF), where she helps organize construction tours and educational events for the community. Leveraging her network, she has also led initiatives to introduce high school students to architectural practice through curated construction tours. In addition to her mentorship work, Rei is an active advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the profession. She champions the representation and influence of Asian American designers, serving as Co-Chair of the AIA Seattle Asian American Designers Union (AADU) since 2022.
