About Reid Johnson

Reid enjoys problem solving and coming up with tailored solutions to building owners issues. Reid does this by communicating with the client to understand what their needs are before starting an assignment. This allows him to manage projects smoothly and manage the clients expectations if and when something unexpected arises. Reid has experience in evaluation of buildings, design, project management, construction review, contract administration, building condition assessments, and capital planning. Reid has been involved with the review and repair of a wide range of building components including: curtain wall repair, window retrofit and replacement, concrete restoration, waterproofing renewal, pool restoration and renewal, roofing, building enclosure renewal and restoration, steel corrosion review, and guard rail installation. He has gained experience working on small and large scale projects for institutional, educational, commercial, residential, and health care clients. At Reid's previous firm he managed their internal knowledge management team for Existing Structures (2015 - 2018) which encompasses the rehabilitation of structures including concrete, steel, timber, masonry, etc, above and below grade. It includes structural repairs, protection systems (waterproofing, coatings, and corrosion inhibiting technologies), and pavements. Reid is familiar with national specifications, creating training content, and creating presentations and articles for clients or industry associations. Reid was a Director for the Sealant and Waterproofing Association of Ontario (SWA) for five years and continues to be a member. He is also a member of the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI). Reid recently started Strategic Building Advisors Inc. He is looking forward to applying his communication skills and technical knowledge to new challenges.
