About Reilly Kenney

I am a Bachelor of Architecture student at IIT, where I have taken on extra courses and maintained a high GPA. I have a strong background in the arts, especially in public speaking and music. I have won multiple awards and competitions in both fields, and have participated in philanthropic and creative projects with my A cappella group, KC A Cappella. These experiences have enhanced my communication, teamwork, and artistic skills, which are essential for my future career in the building and construction industry. As I completed my fourth year of undergraduate studies, I looked to broaden my horizons and utilize my minor in Construction Management by earning a summer internship position with Skyline Construction. Over the course of ten weeks, I gained the expertise needed to assist with the general contracting work here at Skyline Construction. This experience exposed me to real-time construction management, submittal and RFI management, as well as on-site day-to-day operation. The focus of my internship centered around the execution of Skyline Chicago's largest project to date in Libertyville, IL. I gained valuable exposure to the construction realm and worked hard to make a difference in my project team over my short time with Skyline. Following my third year of undergraduate studies, I joined ParkFowler Plus as an architectural intern. I learned the ropes of practicing architecture by assisting with the production of construction drawings, project proposals, and marketing materials. For thirteen months, I worked with Principal Architects Jennifer Park and Brad Fowler, and in my final month of work, the project proposal I worked on with David Mulder was selected to be designed by ParkFowler Plus. This 13-million-dollar project encapsulates all the lessons learned in my time with ParkFowler Plus. As a supplemental instructor at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), I support the learning and development of students in the architectural model shop. where I teach them how to use various tools and software, such as Rhino 3D and woodworking. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion for architecture with others, and helping them achieve their academic goals while honing my skills.
