About Reinder Flaton

I moved to Prague, Czech Republic for work in 2015, after I had successfully completed all the courses in my MA European Union Studies. I still had to complete my Master's thesis, which I managed by staying late at work for about 3 hours every workday to dedicate the needed time to research and writing. After about half a year of this, I submitted my paper and received my diploma shortly after. My first job allowed me to complete my studies while making some money, to gain experience in a full time position, and to get used to talking to customers over the phone. After a year at this customer service job, I started with SAP Ariba as first tier customer support, leveraging the skills I acquired in the year prior. I quickly moved through positions within support, each with more responsibilities and technical skills required. I then became team captain of the Post-Deployment team within Operational Procurement Support. Post-Deployment deals with ad hoc customization requests after initial deployment. Being a member of this team entails working on customer requests via tickets, advising on feasibility and implementing code changes (first in test/dev environments, and then in production). After our team got discontinued, I moved to SAP's cloud integration support. In many ways this meant starting from scratch again, but I did pick up valuable product knowledge. Since the beginning of 2024, I've been working as a Senior Consultant for the Ariba Buying & Invoicing Implementation team, where I once again am involved in product customization, in addition to other technical configurations and project management responsibilities.
