As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, I apply my knowledge and skills in clinical laboratory testing, quality control, and customer service to support the diagnosis and treatment of patients. I am also a doctoral candidate in Public Health/Epidemiology at Capella University, where I am conducting research on the impact of COVID-19 on rural communities. With over 20 years of experience in the health care field, I have worked as a MLT II at Vidant Health, where I performed complex and specialized tests, trained new staff, and maintained laboratory equipment and inventory. I have a master's degree in Health Care Administration/Management with a specialization in Health Care Operations, and a bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management. I am proficient in Microsoft Excel, public speaking, and data analysis. My core competencies include attention to detail, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication. My mission is to improve the health and well-being of people through evidence-based practice, education, and advocacy. I am passionate about public health, epidemiology, and rural health, and I strive to contribute to the advancement of these fields.
