About Ren Martin

Born in Abu Dhabi, and raised in Dubai, I am lucky to have been brought up in the UAE's progressive and cosmopolitan culture. It is there that I attended an IB (International Baccalaureate) school, and found my passion for learning about other cultures. After graduating high school in Dubai, I moved to Tokyo to enroll in the Faculty Liberal Arts (FLA) program of Sophia University, where I desired to interact with students from all over the world and adopt a holistic understanding of cultural interactions by indulging in the wide selection of courses that the university offers. Within the FLA program, I specialized in the interdisciplinary study of Comparative Culture; graduating with a major in religion and philosophy, and a minor in literature. In tandem with my studies, I worked in a number of part-time jobs that include restaurant server, survey researcher intern, and English teacher, which have helped further hone my multilingual abilities, and my skills in interpersonal communication, team work, adaptability, critical thinking, and customer service. I began my full-time career working as a Customer Support Executive for VAI Marketing Management’s Customer Support department, and currently I work as a Client Support Specialist.
