Music is and always has been a big part of my life. However, I think it's so misunderstood in the world today. Many usually associate it with taking expensive instrument lessons and exams, and the word "talent" comes up often. But there is so much more that music and music education can offer - social-emotional skills, active listening skills, critical thinking skills, a medium for expression, etc- musician or not. I have been blessed with great teachers and many learning opportunities that have helped to shape the way I think about music and education in general. In my journey, I hope to find creative ways to incorporate music in the work that I do and make a positive impact in the lives of others.
