About Rena Reyes

Rena Reyes is a recent graduate of Western New England University School of Law. In the spring of 2024, she participated in WNE’s Global Justice Clinic. Her responsibilities included researching past and proposed immigration policies under past presidential administrations, along with drafting a detailed human rights analysis of those policies. In the fall of 2023, she externed with the Risk Management department at Baystate Health in Springfield, Massachusetts. There, she worked with a team of risk managers and assisted them in identifying adverse health events and near-misses. Further, she drafted organization-wide policies, alongside her supervisor. Rena has experience as both a research and teaching assistant to Professor Luwam Dirar for a course titled Contract Drafting. In that role, Rena assisted students in their development of drafting contracts and aided the professor in course refinement. Prior to attending law school, Rena attended MCPHS University in Boston, Massachusetts and received her BS in Public Health with a minor in Business Administration. Rena completed her senior capstone with the supervision of Professor Brianne Olivieri-Mui; together, they wrote a research article discussing the convergence of HIV criminalization and nursing homes. In addition, Rena was also a member of the Student Advisory Board for the Center for Undergraduate Research at MCPHS. As a member of the board, she helped plan the Second Annual Undergraduate Research Conference.
