Background
About Renae Barlow
I have spent more than 30 years helping entrepreneurs, innovators, and communities turn bold ideas into real impact. My career has focused on leveling the playing field so that access to emerging technologies is not limited to a few but available to all. Through my company, Summit Stream Inc, I now consult with leaders and ecosystems on aligning values, strengthening resilience, and bringing frontier technologies into practical use. Alongside this, I continue to lead special projects with Economic Development Lethbridge (EDL) in intellectual property, creative industries, digital adoption, and regional innovation networks, with a particular emphasis on advancing quantum computing through the world’s first Quantum Super Hub and strengthening education and awareness of quantum technologies. In 2025, I had the privilege of welcoming the world’s first Quantum Super Hub into the Tecconnect technology incubator in Lethbridge, Canada. This milestone brought quantum and hybrid computing within reach of rural businesses, researchers, and entrepreneurs, enabling solutions in agriculture, manufacturing, fintech, healthcare, and beyond without the need to be in a major tech center. Today, as Vice President of Global Ecosystems with SuperQ Quantum Computing Inc, I am leading the creation of a worldwide network of Quantum Super Hubs to democratize access to these transformative technologies. I believe innovation works best when it is inclusive. I have led initiatives such as Alberta’s first Women in STEM accelerator, the Rural Women in Technology program, and IP strategies designed for Indigenous, rural, and underrepresented entrepreneurs. These projects have been recognized nationally, yet the most meaningful result is seeing people and communities succeed on their own terms. Beyond program design and strategy, I am an active voice in the global conversation on innovation and leadership. Through LinkedIn series on leadership mindsets and the future of quantum technologies, as well as public speaking and global partnerships, I share insights that help leaders align values with action, build resilience, and design their legacy in an era defined by technological change. If you are curious about how emerging technologies can strengthen your business, your community, or your ecosystem, I would welcome the chance to connect. Whether you are across the street or across the globe, there is always something we can learn from each other.
