About Renae Henry

Renae began her career as a journalist at Seven News in 2006, while completing a Bachelor of Communications at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Her first posting was Bundaberg for two years, followed by Townsville for a year. In 2010 she moved to Brisbane, taking a role as a reporter for Ten News. She was the police reporter for two years and also covered prominent stories including the devastating 2011 floods, Cyclone Yasi, the Allison Baden-Clay murder and the Queen’s visit. She joined the Nine News team in 2014, briefly in Brisbane, before transferring to Sydney where she covered several national-interest stories including the Sydney Lindt Café siege. In 2016 Renae moved to Nine News Perth to take on a role as a senior reporter. From there she was deployed to cover several international stories including the Lombok earthquake and Lion Air plane crash off Java. In early 2019 Renae became Nine News’ Asia Correspondent, based in Indonesia, her coverage including the horrific Sri Lanka terror attack, Hong Kong riots, and the Covid pandemic. Upon returning to Perth she became a senior producer for Nine News, also regularly fulfilling the role of executive producer, managing the newsroom team and delivering high-quality bulletins each day. Keen for a new challenge and to transfer her skills, in 2024 Renae became Strategic Community Engagement Officer for the City of Stirling, a role that also involves media advising. In her other life, Renae loves spending time with her toddler, heading to the beach and travelling.
