About Renae Vandemark

From a young age, I knew that I had a calling to help people. After accomplishing my Associates degree in Nursing in 2012, I began my nursing career at Blank Children's Hospital here in Des Moines, IA. Specializing in oncology and hematology, as well as, surgery/neurology/trauma, infectious disease and other acute & chronic illnesses I learned from the best. Craving a challenge in 2016, I applied and was offered a RN position with the Pediatric Life Flight Team. Throughout my orientation I was able to learn more in critical care and emergency nursing, as well as, grow as a nurse overall throughout my orientation. After a long consideration, I resigned my LifeFlight RN position with the desire to gain critical care nursing knowledge, as well as, pediatric cardiac experience in a PICU role at Mercy Children's Hospital. With this PICU experience under my belt, I began traveling as a PICU RN in September 2018 and I am currently working on broadening my nursing expertise through traveling to many different hospitals. Currently, I am working in Omaha at Children’s in the CCU through mid-January.
