About Renata Vice

I love to spend my time unpacking business problems and understand user problems through research to find the sweet spot worth focussing the solution on. By approaching the analysis phase with empathy our team can create a product that people not only love to use but also makes sense for stakeholders to invest in. Observing my mom using a simple digital product converted me to advocate for user research and testing throughout the design process. Critical to ensure we deliver data-driven solutions for all our users. As Product Design Manager of a global team, I have naturally grown a keen interest in Design Ops over the last year. I enjoy making an impact by implementing more efficient ways for our team to work together while ensuring there’s room for individual growth. Current and recent projects include both B2C and B2B global products for hybrid, native and progressive web app design in the financial, health and wellness sectors. I have substantial experience in internal service platform design with a focus on content configuration, localisation and client service solutions. Another passion of mine is design systems, made up of scalable design patterns built in Sketch and Figma. As a designer my role has always been to be part of a collective creative process, however, I have been in mid-management positions since 2009 where my responsibilities included administrative, workflow and people management of creative studios and teams. Ten years of experience in global advertising agencies and boutique design studios help formed my initial strategic problem-solving ability to shape a full brand experience for a customer from print to in-store shopper marketing. In addition I am a qualified architect, the field where my passion to influence the way people see and experience the world around them started. My portfolio includes product, digital and graphic design work for Vitality Global, FNB, ABSA, MTN, Adcock Ingram, Coca-Cola, South African Airways, South African Breweries and Colgate-Palmolive, to name a few.
