Background
About Renee Downhower
Before I was married, I was an art teacher at Millennium Community School for four years teaching art. I taught 740 students a week K-5 having a classroom and also art on a cart. Then, I changed careers to decorating for Creative Paints for four years. I worked with commercial and residential clients assisting with selections of wallpaper, custom draperies, custom bedding, blinds, and interior and exterior paint. After having a child myself, I missed teaching and was a paraprofessional in Westerville City Schools with students with Autism grades K-5. Currently, I am a substitute teacher pursuing a teaching career with English Language learners and my TESOL endorsement is almost complete. One of my goals is to teach and integrate art through an international based curriculum and my travels of 12 countries. My goal is to complete my endorsement to teach elementary or middle school ELL students within small groups to help shape independent learners.
