Background
About Renee Maier
Being an ad writer encompasses so much more than knowing how to put a sentence together. It's about perspective - being able to put yourself in the shoes of the prospective customer. It's about prioritizing what is important to that person and what is not. It's about being wildly creative while still staying on strategy and being true to the brand you represent. It's about remaining relevant in an ever-changing landscape. And it's about recognizing a big idea and moving past the small ones. The best part about being an ad writer is that from day to day, and from client to client, you don't know which tools you'll be required to pull out of the box - and I do mean out of the box. From humor to logic, from energy to empathy, from ingenuity to sheer determination and psychotic attention to detail, sometimes it takes everything you've got (plus a few gymnastics maneuvers to get it all in before deadline). The constant challenge is what keeps me motivated and energized to come up with the next BIG IDEA.
