At Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, Renee O'Neil leads as the Community Relations and Communications Manager, ensuring impactful community outreach and effective communication.Renee utilizes her journalism background and community connections to deliver impactful communication strategies for the hospital.Prior to Piedmont Medical Center, for more than a decade Renee was a senior news reporter, producer and anchor for CN2 News in Rock Hill, SC. In her decade-long career as a journalist, Renee gained the trust of community leaders and viewers by sharing their stories with passion and balance. She started her journalism career at CN2 News in 2013 and has worked her way up from intern to a newsroom leader. During her time at CN2, she worked as a commercial producer, multimedia journalist, senior news reporter and anchor. In 2018, she launched CN2 Today, the station's first weekly lifestyle show. As the show's producer and anchor, Renee built relationships with brands, promoted events and managed CN2 Today's social media.Her years of experience allowed her to seamlessly transition from covering a lighthearted story to a breaking news report. A skilled storyteller and powerful communicator, Renee has not only shared compelling stories that matter to Chester, York and Lancaster Counties, but she has trained countless of young journalists to do the same. During her time at CN2 News, Renee covered many monumental moments in South Carolina's history, including the removal of the Confederate flag from the State Capitol, Presidential elections, as well as the Opioid Epidemic, the Mental Health crisis with youth, and the ongoing homeless issues within the Tri-County.A Chester County native, Renee loves her community and gives back in many ways, including emceeing events for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (Piedmont Tri-County). She is also a board member for NAMI Piedmont Tri-County. On the weekends, she spends time in her other role at First Baptist Church Fort Mill where she works part-time as a live-stream director and church video host.
