About Renee Smith

After spending over 25 years in small business and an equal number of years volunteering for my college sorority, I have thoroughly enjoyed my return to education! Education was my first passion and my first job was teaching. I was able to keep that passion alive with the many years of volunteering for my college sorority. I created and implemented numerous programs during those years. My fellow volunteers got so tired of hearing me recommend training for nearly every problem, they gave me several "trains" to illustrate the point! After returning to college and securing a Master of Arts degree in Education, my passion for education returned! I realized during my pursuit of the MA that elementary teachers, especially, are expected to perform near herculean tasks every day. Each classroom contains children whose abilities vary greatly. State and federal guidelines increase almost daily. The teachers are overwhelmed. If children do not learn basic skills especially by the end of grade three, the future for them is going to be a never ending struggle. My business partner, a long time friend whom I met in college, and I believe that we can help children and also help teachers. We develop a customized program for each child and administer it at the child's speed. Since we are locally owned and operated, we can implement a truly child-centered program. We only accept children age five through grade six. By not offering tutoring to everyone for everything, we can spend the additional time needed to determine and design a truly individualized program. We want every child to be successful!
