Healthcare leader, with over twenty years of experience and a demonstrated history of making health care organizations 'healthier' in many areas of importance including superior financial performance, new service line development, market share growth, better quality of care outcomes and improved organizational cultures that result in enhanced in happier employees and more satisfied patients while also contributing to improved recruitment and retention success. My leadership is purposeful in establishing meaningful, transparent and genuine internal and external relationships built on trust, enthusiasm, genuine caring and with a shared vision of the future while also being committed to being personally accountable, instilling organizational accountability and in short, doing what you say you are going and leading by example, with no task or activity being beneath me if it helps others or benefits the organization. After taking a brief timeout from of healthcare organizational leadership, I went to work for a large group purchasing organization delivering exceptional value for its members. After working closely with healthcare organizations of all sizes, I took the opportunity to return to healthcare leadership with new skills and with a renewed passion to continue in the quest to ‘make a difference’. One of the most important skills that I obtained during my time way was in the area of non-salary expense reduction skills which have proven to be even more important today with the costs to deliver healthcare services continuing to rise significantly. My personal leadership attributes include being a person of high energy, engaging, but unflappable, person of character who has always taken my role responsibilities very seriously and is always striving to be better. I believe in the power of collaboration but am not afraid to make the required tough and difficult decisions. I strive to create a culture of openness that reinforces and fosters trust. I enjoy rounding on others and being visible in a positive way throughout the healthcare organization and in the community. This allows me to show appreciation and to obtain good ideas, no matter the source and to gain additional insight on organizational capabilities and improvement possibilities. I also have experience being a contract negotiator, a college instructor, a state quality award examiner and radio sports announcer. I have completed the requirements to achieve a Fellowship in the American College of Health Care Executives (FACHE) and also as a Certified Professional Manager (CPM).
