About Rex Douglass

Portfolio at I’ve been absolutely cooking this year: • Machine-vision pipelines — RIOS Intelligent Machines • 🧾 Information-extraction pipelines — Microsoft • Interactive SMS surveys — Pantheon Insights What I’ve been building: RIOS Intelligent Machines — rebuilt the video annotation stack: • stratified sampler to surface rare events in 10k+ hours of footage • tool-assisted labeler (real-time, in-browser) • fully automated object labeler for moving items on conveyor belts Microsoft — designed our LLM/IE platform so new use cases need only two artifacts: a prompt template + a JSON codebook; shipped pipelines across legal, accounting, and product delivery Pantheon Insights — interactive SMS focus groups (LLM-in-the-loop) Personally — large-scale meta-science: reading millions of papers to synthesize methodological lessons; plus guardrails for task-mastering Codex/Claude coding agents to build long projects without regressing What I’m looking for: • Full-time or freelance with a team building durable systems in LLM information extraction, document AI, or industrial vision • Somewhere stable—mass layoffs and funding collapses made both FAANG and startups a roller-coaster this year If you know a team tackling similar problems, I’d love an intro.
