Rex Witkamp is an experienced lic. USCG Captain with over a decade in the first responder role as a Paramedic/Firefighter. With over 30 years working in industries such as the private sector, healthcare, export, IT, and government, Rex has lived and worked overseas in Europe, Western Pacific as well as the US concurrently building experience on many types of Motor Yachts and Sportfish vessels. Rex's love for the aquatic industry has served him well in life. Currently seeking a long-term Captain’s position aboard a private 50-80’ Sportfish, or 60-100’ motor yacht, with preference given to a fishing-minded program based in Florida, USA and Bahamas. Looking forward to utilizing my watersports experience, managing crew, safety operations and protocols, compliance, yacht budgeting/ maintenance, and smooth program operations to provide a five star yacht program and experience to Owner’s and guest’s delights. Prior to his current role, Rex served on the Command Navy Europe Africa Southwest Asia (COMNAVEURAFSWA) Board of EMS Directors for the Emergency Medical Services Working Group to advance the worldwide medical agenda for the US Navy Fire & Emergency Services. Based in Naples, Italy, Rex was directly responsible for the procurement, inventory, and roll out of 206 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) across the Region. Additionally, Rex tracked and managed all Emergency Medical Technician & Paramedic level certifications across 9 countries, 3 continents, and 3 timezones for the Department of Defense, US Navy Fire & Emergency Services. In addition, Rex responded on his duty schedule as Paramedic/Firefighter in Guam as the Navy Region Guam’s only Paramedic. Rex has also served in the private healthcare sector as Lead Hospital Representative managing $5M durable medical equipment rental program for the North Florida Trauma Center at Shands Jacksonville, Florida. Rex built and sold family owned export company with clientele worldwide.
