About Rhiannon Doogan

I believe that everyone should have access to the arts and that music, drama and movement are key to all round well-being. I am a passionate facilitator and promote inclusion and self confidence in all my sessions. Through working with SoundUp Arts, a community interest company which brings the arts to people living with dementia, I have been able to demonstrate my organisation; by preparing, marketing and promoting 4 online concerts, raising over for people living with dementia in Greater Manchester, my interpersonal skills; by leading workshops and concerts for people living in care homes during the pandemic, aiming to relieve their loneliness, and my creativity; by taking my self taught illustration skills and enhancing them through online training to be able to create and manage print and online resources so that those who can not attend live sessions can still access the arts. I believe that this role also demonstrates how hard working and passionate I am. I aimed to bring as much content as possible to those who were isolated during the pandemic, while also managing to turn my own adversity, in the face of having most of my freelance work cancelled, into a flourishing new career. My work in schools teaching young people shows how confident and professional I am, as well as my strong communication skills. I am regularly in contact with parents and other staff members via email or telephone, and am both polite and professional in these interactions.I am a trained classical singer and love to perform regularly. I also enjoy musical theatre and help young people to stage two shows a year as part of my work with Footlights Theatre School. I enjoy photography and always take my camera with me when I go walking. I also love animals and recently volunteered at a Doggy day care.
