About Rhoda Smith

After starting my career in H&S Training & Development, I soon realised my passion for working with people & moved into the people profession. I'm an enthusiastic, driven, CIPD qualified HR Business Partner. I pride myself in contributing to a company both strategically & operationally; working with an array of different stakeholders to achieve the best results. Key Achievements- Creating a mental health maturity matrix off the back off the Stephenson-Farmer report into workplace mental health, which is now widely used in other companies. The Mental Health Working Group, which i chaired, took the recommendations from the report and created the matrix to allow us to benchmark ourselves against evidence-based standards, Action plans were then put in place to drive performance in mental wellbeing, and we saw a rise in engagement and positive feedback from staff as a result- Contract management of EPIC, an award-winning behavioural induction used to embed behavioural change throughout the lifetime of the Tideway project. Over people attended, and the high praise/feedback for the induction is proven through the low health & safety incidents on the project- Stakeholder engagement. I'm proud of the relationships I've built with stakeholders across an array of corporate functions to help the business in reaching it's goals. Working with legal, engineering, communications, finance, facilities, H&S etc to deliver what is necessary, prioritising and balancing my workload to ensure appropriate support is given and the end goal is reached. The verbal & written feedback, as well as the continuation of strong relationships, proves the value I've added here. I'm passionate about creating a strong and open culture within a company that allows diversity, creativity and innovation to flourish. I like to think holistically and always work proactively in supporting my companies values and promoting the company brand.
