About Rhode Ortega

As a First-Generation college graduate, I have learned to be disciplined, resilient, and open-minded. In the past I have worked in industries further from my career path than I would have preferred but these jobs have helped me gain foundational skills needed in any workplace. The customer service industry has taught me problem-solving skills, as the sales industry has taught me adaptability skills. I have learned that being correct is not always preferred, rather being empathetic and collaborative are characteristics with the potential of greater impacts. While I was a full-time student at Texas State University, I was also a full-time mom, wife, and employee. On a daily basis, whatever I am doing, or wherever I go I am constantly doing multiple things at once. Regardless of what day it is, or how busy i may be I manage well by prioritizing tasks, time-managing, and being organized. I am an aspiring Immigration Lawyer and seek to gain knowledge and experience while working at a law firm as a legal assistant or legal intern, specifically at a firm that specializes in Immigration Law or a business position that intertwines Immigration Law to business aspects. I hope to expand my professional network and create new opportunities that will help me, help others in the future.
