About Rhommel Lamas

Rhommel has an international career of almost two decades in roles that include Engineering Director, Sr. Manager, and Site reliability engineering in mid-size and large enterprises. He is currently a Senior Engineering Manager at Cloudflare, responsible for Cloudflare's Observability charter, Edge SRE in APJC and Cloudflare China. Previously, he was the Head of Site Reliability Engineering at Apptio, one of the fastest-growing enterprise SaaS companies, leading, growing, and developing a high performant remote organisation of more than 40 engineers worldwide supporting over 400 engineers. His achievements include development and execution of the strategy that led the migration of 70% of their customers to the cloud with a 15M$ budget (AWS and Azure) and transform their operational model to adopt Site Reliability practices across all product lines. He also influenced executive leadership in the adoption of cascading goals (OKRs) to provide focus and direction to the whole company which translated into faster delivery and better engineering focus. On this spare time, Rhommel is also an Angel Investor at Sydney Angels, empowering Australian founders who aspire to build great businesses in the SaaS and Healthcare spaces.
