About Rhonda Burrough
I am a communicator, a motivator and a champion for the earth's natural resources. Applying science to real life is my passion. Whether I am teaching or working in research and manufacturing, I love to see science knowledge solve real life problems. In my research experience, I developed a patented process to enrich the active ingredient in ibuprofen and worked for several years at a manufacturing site supporting the research and development of flame retardants. I also provided industrial guidance to plant facility permitting and environmental compliance. In teaching, I am dedicated to motivating and encouraging students to pursue careers in math and science. I am currently the team lead for the Tiger Prairie Project, a restoration of turf grass to native Texas Coastal Prairie on the Katy High School campus. This space serves as an outdoor classroom and a model for the conservation of our Texas natural resources.
