About Rhone Fraser

I am the author of "Pauline Hopkins and Advocacy Journalism"(2019). I am the co-editor of "Critical Responses about the Black Family in Toni Morrison's 'God Help the Child'" published December 2019 by Lexington Books. This year I just self published my third book "To A More Positive Purpose: Critical Responses to the Scholarship of Tony Martin"(2024) published by Dr. Rhone Fraser Enterprises. This book includes my survey of the Marcus Garvey Library and contributors include Ian Smart, Rupert Lewis, Joshua Myers, Geoffrey Philp, Latif Tarik, Wendy McBurney, April Shemak and Ophera Davis. I am an independent scholar and lifetime member of the Pauline Elizabeth Hopkins Society, member of the Toni Morrison Society. I taught at Princeton, Temple, and Howard Universities. I earned my Ph.D. in African American Studies from Temple University in 2012. I edited a special issue of the Journal of Pan African Studies about the work of novelist Elizabeth Nunez. I published an article in the Caribbean Quarterly about the work of novelist Marlon James. I teach in the field of African American Studies, African American History, English, and History. I teach biographies of radical thinkers and Anglophone Caribbean literature. I have taught the following courses: English 802: Analytical Reading and Writing; African American Studies 1165: History of Caribbean Culture; and African American Studies 1296: Introduction to African American Studies.
