About Rian Opperman

I'm a passionate software-engineering intern currently exploring full-stack development while working at Nureva. I'm also in my fourth year of Software Engineering at the University of Calgary with a minor in Biomedical Engineering. I'm proficient in C/C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, Rust, Python and Java. I have completed quite a few projects, for example a movie review site similar to IMDb and a Morse code translation system on a micro-controller. Currently, I am developing my own operating system from scratch in C & Rust to understand and learn more about the inner workings of an OS. My main technical interests are brain-computer interfaces and the various low-level sorcery in embedded & kernel development. Beyond coding, I like hiking and reading to enjoy nature and the smaller things in life. My main strengths are adaptability, collaboration, creativity, leadership and resilience.
