Ricardo Laiseca is a senior executive in financial services. He is also a professional investment and risk manager, and a Board member of BBVA Switzerland, Bit2Me Security Tokens Exchange, and Financiera Confianza. Global Head of Sustainability Transition at BBVA from 2020 to 2024. He has been involved in BBVA’s sustainability journey since 2007. He was a member of the IIF Taskforce on Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets and MIT Climate and Sustainability Consortium. He was Global Head of Investment Banking & Finance at BBVA from 2015 to 2020. Previously, he was COO of BBVA Corporate and Investment Banking from 2013 to 2015. He was Global Head of Global Markets at BBVA from 2006 to 2013, and Head of Global Markets Europe at BBVA from to 2006. With more than 25 years of experience in banking, he is a founding member of the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME). Graduate from the University of the Basque Country with a First in Economics and National Achievement Award, post-graduate studies at the Catholic University of Leuven, Master in Finance from CEMFI, MBA from IE Business School, and PDG from IESE Business School.
