About Ricardo Mateus

I’m a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Blip.pt, the Portuguese tech hub for Flutter Entertainment. I began my career in Quality Assurance, which gave me a strong foundation in testing, processes, and delivering reliable software. Over time, I stepped into leadership, first as a team lead exploring line management, and later moving fully into management roles. Today, I have the privilege of leading engineering teams at Flutter—helping them deliver great products while also growing as professionals. What drives me most is building strong, collaborative teams. I believe culture is the cornerstone of high performance, and that agile frameworks should adapt to people—not the other way around. My QA background keeps me focused on quality and efficiency, but I’m always looking for new ways to make the way we work more effective, engaging, and enjoyable.
