About Rich Bard

I thrive as a problem solver who works independently or as part of a team, often in ambiguous circumstances. I focus on improving processes, anticipating blockers, and driving efficiencies to enable smooth and effective operations. The goal of Business Operations is to maintain compliance, remove friction, and ensure other teams have what they need to succeed. Some of the most important skills I developed in my years as a biologist, nonprofit Executive Director, and in my current work are how to start where you are, understand quickly what is needed to solve the problem or issue in front of you, effectively find a solution, and successfully implement the solution. In each role, I was faced with different issues, with different resources at my disposal, and with different stakes for success. The common thread is following my own instincts and process for prioritization and pursuing the best solution.
