Rich loves building teams of high-performing technologists who embrace the challenges of today’s information-rich ecosystems, including healthcare and cyber security. It’s a world built upon application development, data analytics, and data science, all of which can be combined to provide best-of-breed solutions that ensure the security of personal and organizational information. Having worked for DuPont, Codonics and CoverMyMeds, Rich has a long history of developing and delivering software that directly influences the health of patients in a positive way. His four patents speak to his ability to innovate on behalf of the patient, and to pioneer new ways of doing things that make the job of the caregiver easier and more effective. He started his career in medical imaging, developing products that expedited the clinical diagnosis made possible by delivering imaging results to radiologists over a network with the DuPont Linx Networking System. This was a pioneering effort that set the stage for future remote diagnosis systems that have become the norm in today’s radiology landscape. After a short stint at a web-based consultancy (Brulant), Rich longed to get back to product development work that helps patients lead healthier lives. In his return to Codonics, he embraced a leadership position that allowed him to multiply his efforts through the growth of a team of talented software engineers and delivery of life-saving products to the healthcare industry at large. In his next role, Rich helped to grow the software development team at CoverMyMeds through grass-roots recruiting and a commitment to core values. He spearheaded the quality effort and built a culture of risk management among the development teams that stems from a desire to do the right thing for the company and the patients. Finally, he helped to establish data science and machine learning (AI) as a valuable resource for driving patient value from the products. In his current role, Rich leads a product delivery team, including developers, system administrators, QA technologists and technical support specialists. Together, they provide software to ensure that cyber workers across the Department of Defense and supporting industries are sufficiently trained for the ever growing and evolving cyber threats that our nation and our allies face.
