I have been involved in the ecological and environmental field for over ten years, including professional ecological consultancy, freelance work, voluntary conservation and environmental teaching. Having been a Senior Ecologist at two consultancy companies, I now work as a freelance Ecologist and Environmental Trainer under Flight Ecology I specialise in ecological training, bat mitigation, ecological scoping surveys and bird monitoring. I have experience since 2008 dealing with licenced bat surveys. I carry personal licenses for bats, newts and barn owls in England and bats in Wales and Scotland. I have been a Named Ecologist on numerous EPSM licences for bats. This includes composing the applications, supervising works and monitoring success. I am a qualified and insured tree climber (to NPTC CS38 standard) and am experienced in locating and identifying bat tree roosts in tree canopies. I have over 15 years of teaching and training experience, from field studies classes and outdoor education to continual professional development (CPD). Ten years experience of carrying out ecological monitoring surveys including bird, bat, otter, fox, amphibian, reptile and plant surveys. Specialties: Bat survey work (buildings, trees, field transects). Bat Mitigation (both buildings and trees). Bird survey work. Scoping surveys for protected species. Environmental education; presenting talks in both formal and informal settings, leading walks and generally presenting environental information in an accessible manner
