About Richa Malik

Richa is a public health professional with over seven years of involvement in varied fields of nutrition like community nutrition, infant and young child feeding, maternal health and nutrition, fortification project portfolio and planning, behaviour change communication, with added teaching experience at the master’s level (IGNOU). She accomplished her doctorate in Food and Nutrition from University of Delhi and the area of her research work was on Double Burden of Malnutrition among urban poor. As a consultant/Technical specialist, she worked with organisations namely Public Health Resource Society (PHRS) as senior consultant (Nutrition Advisor) for implementation of community-based nutrition project in Odisha on setting up a unique aanganwadi-crèche model. Prior to this, she worked with Global Alliance for Improved nutrition(GAIN) supporting the India team in managing the Community Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) project portfolio, engaging with multiple stakeholders and donor parties for advocacy and implementation of the programs. Subsequently, Richa positioned Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) as programme coordinator for the Public Health Nutrition Course launched in distance learning mode and as research associate in GAIN-PHFI funded community project in Gujurat during the same tenure. She also worked as research nutritionist with Public Health Nutrition and Development Centre (PHNDC) and as visiting faculty at Institute of Hotel Management, PUSA.In addition, Richa gained industry experience by working with corporates like Nestle IndiaLtd. on project relating to recipe content development from nutrition, health and wellness perspective. She also worked as Public Health Nutritionist with Nutricia International Pvt Ltd (Danone Nutricia India), for the Nutriplanet project supporting with desk review/analysis and report writing.As part of the Ph.D. work, she has presented papers in various National and International conference(s) and received travel grant for a very prestigious conference organised by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Headquarters Vienna, sponsored by WHO and UNICEF.
