About Richaa Benny

When I was 7 years old, I went to see James Cameron’s Avatar in a movie theatre. This experience left such a profound impact on me that, from that moment on, I knew I wanted to belong to the world of cinema. At the time, I was unaware where I would find my place. By watching countless of movies from every possible country: the United States, India, France, South Korea and the United Kingdom I gained an extensive knowledge on film. I decided to belong where all the magic of visual effects is made possible. It was visual effects that made the characters of Avatar realistic, so it made sense that I only pursued what made me fall in love with cinema in the first place. In 2021, after passing my Cambridge International A-Levels exams with 3 As and 2 Bs, I enrolled in the ‘Animation and Visual Effects’ at the University of Mauritius. In three years, I gained proficiency in Autodesk Maya, Unreal Engine and Adobe software. I graduated first class with honors with a GPA of 3.85. During my time at the University, I created a short animated movie done entirely on Unreal Engine using Metahumans. I used mocap to animate the & t=2s)
