About Richard Baird

Richard Baird is Senior Vice President and Global CTO, Core Enterprise and zCloud for Kyndryl. Richard is responsible for the development, integration, and testing of the IBM Z and IBM i service capabilities and offerings available from Kyndryl. Prior to his current role Richard held numerous executive positions within IBM, his last being VP, GTS Client Technology Enablement covering client solutioning and production reviews globally across all infrastructure technologies. Earlier in his career, over a 25+ year period, Richard held a variety of management and technical roles across IBM, including VP, Worldwide WebSphere Technical Sales; VP, WebSphere Foundation Development; Director, IBM Software Group Strategic Alliances; Director, Rational Technical Acquisition and Integration (at the time of IBM’s acquisition of Rational in 2002) and Director, WebSphere and CICS for z/OS. Richard was also the first Manager for IBM’s Java Technology Centre. Richard joined IBM in 1987 after graduating from Bradford University, UK with a BSc (Hons) in Computing and Data Processing. He is also a Fellow of The Irish Computer Society and a Fellow of The British Computer Society.
