About Richard Cafege

As the Head of Corporate Security at NextDecade, a liquified natural gas (LNG ) company headquartered in Texas and the largest greenfield project financing in U.S. history, I have over 23 years of experience in security operations and strategic planning in both government and private sectors. I have considerable expertise in physical and technical security, developing and managing complex security projects across the enterprise through collaboration with other business units, product research and design, oversight of integrators for compliance with technical security standards, and administration of all physical and technical security programs globally. I also provide and steward technical oversight, development, and advancement of solutions/technology for the business, and manage manufacturer/vendor/contractor relationships within the technical security areas. Additionally, I have extensive experience in technical surveillance countermeasures (TSCM), executive protection, border security, general law enforcement and training, with international experience that encompasses work in 18 countries with 2 1/2 years of service abroad. I have a Master's degree in Public Service and Administration with a focus on Homeland Security, and a Graduate Certificate in Advanced International Affairs with a focus on Counterterrorism from Texas A&M University.
